Why Lionsgate?

As a group we have researched many different film institutions both large and small, we have come to the conclusions that Lionsgate would be the most appropriate institution to represent our film. Lionsgate is a rapidly growing and becoming largely successful as a media institution, not only in films but in the music and television industry also. Over the past year Lionsgate has built itself up as a company as they recently had a massive success with the Hunger Games series which has attracted many more film makers to be part of their productions. We agreed that they would be a good institution to represents us as well as our own media institution 'Pandemic Pictures' as one of its main business objectives it to grow as a company which could mean our film will one day be part of a major institution. Another reason which attracted us to Lionsgate was the fact that they have grossed more than $2.5 billion last year (2012) with the company also having an 11.6% share in the American box office market meaning our horror film could be a global success as well as a domestic one. Lions gate has a large portfolio of films ranging from slasher horror to romantic comedy.
One of Lionsgate's most recent horror films has been the Texas Chainsaw Massacre remake in 3D which to date has made $38, 700, 255 which we hope that our film will be just as successful if not more.
